What benefits do we offer
The Linde Group prides itself on the support it offers its employees and as such offers a variety of excellent benefits. Some of the benefits are generic across all employees, others may be relevant to certain groups or individuals.
If you offered a position with the company your offer letter will clearly set out the benefits to which you are entitled.
Pension
All UK permanent and contract employees will be entitled to join the BOC Retirement Savings Plan from their start date with the Company. This is a contributory scheme, with various levels of contribution.
Hours
Typically, most employees work a 37.5 hour week Monday to Friday, however this is dependent on the type of work and contract agreed. You will be informed of the contracted hours of work for the role in which you are interested either at advertising or interview stage.
Annual Leave
Employees are entitled to holidays according to their contract or trade union agreement. The standard holiday entitlement is normally 25 days. Employees are also entitled to 8 statutory holidays as observed by the Company. Dependant on your position, leave will be increased for employees with over 10 years service.
Private Health Insurance
The Company provides Private Health Insurance through PPP to those employees who are eligible. This would be discussed at the offer letter stage if appropriate.
BOC UK Car Scheme
BOC will also provide options on a car scheme if your new job requires a car. BOC also make available a status car scheme option to employees of a senior grade.
Study Support Policy
The Study Support policy has been devised with the specific aim of helping employees upgrade their skills, to improve formal qualifications and enhance their career potential. Typically financial assistance and study leave is offered to employees who wish to develop their skills and qualifications further.
Sports & Social Club – Group/Gases
The Company supports the formation of sports and social clubs where enough employees are interested to make the clubs viable. The Company will make a contribution towards the funding of the club, either on an ad-hoc basis or by regular contributions.
Professional Membership Subscription
The company recognises the value of expertise and information gained from professional institutions and memberships and therefore is prepared to pay individual’s membership subscription fees for any appropriate institutes.
Free Car Parking
On all of the BOC sites, where there is car parking it is free.
Subsidised Restaurants
On most of the larger sites and some of the smaller ones there can be found subsidised restaurants. Sites without restaurants usually have a Rest room or Mess Room, where kitchen equipment can be found.
Boots Eye Care
The Eye Care scheme from Boots is a benefit designed to look after the optical needs of VDU users. The benefits of this scheme include:
- A full eye examination from a qualified Optometrist.
- Subsequent eye examinations at regular intervals at a cost to the company (every 2 years).
- Basic VDU or safety glasses if found necessary for daily work undertaken.
Benefits of Choice
All employees are given a login to this employee benefits portal. Through this site, you are able to save money through discounts on everyday purchases, earn cashback from your favourite shops, or have retail vouchers sent to your home for you to spend in store.
Childcare Vouchers
Save money on the cost of childcare through this tax efficient scheme in association with Edenred. As a BOC employee, you can purchase childcare vouchers each month, with payments made direct from your salary, but free from Tax and National Insurance.
Cycle to Work Scheme
All BOC employees have the opportunity to participate in the Cycle to Work scheme. You will have the opportunity to join the scheme during the annual enrolment window each summer.
Denplan Dental Insurance
Denplan have a choice of plans which meet a variety of different oral health needs, as well as access to a nationwide network of around 6,500 member dentists and access to a 24 hour Worldwide Dental Emergency Helpline. You can benefit from preferential rates negotiated for BOC employees.
Nuffield Health Screening
Nuffield's contemporary range of health assessments will give you a clear understanding of your current state of health and provide you with the guidance and motivation you need to make positive changes to your lifestyle. The plans are available at discounted rates for BOC employees.
Simplyhealth Healthcare Cashplan
BOC has been working with Simplyhealth, one of the UK's leading healthcare providers, to offer special reduced rates on voluntary health cash plan benefits: the Simply Cash Plan and the Simply Dental Plan.
