Our three year apprenticeship combines on-the-job training with residential block release working towards a nationally recognised qualification at NVQ 2 & 3 level.
We can offer you an apprenticeship that provides you with the knowledge and skills in basic engineering principles and an opportunity to specialise in the engineering disciplines of:
- Mechanical Maintenance (Mech)
- Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance (E&I)
- Design and Technical Support (Design).
The apprenticeship programme is co-ordinated and managed by our approved training provider, Outsource Training and Development, who have an overall success rate of 90% for their apprentices, in collaboration with BOC.
Your training includes a technical certificate to cover basic mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, design, fabrication and welding skills, giving you the foundations to continue in the specific discipline/trade of your role in BOC: Mech, E & I or Design.
For the first two years of your apprenticeship programme you will attend study and training blocks. These block releases from work will be spread equally across each year, totalling a period of 24 weeks. The rest of your time will be spent working on site. Your third year will be solely site-based to complete your NVQ.
You will be assigned to a BOC site from day one and, working with experienced BOC engineers, you’ll have the opportunity to apply what you have learned to real-life situations within a supportive work environment.
So if you like to take things apart, we’ll teach you to put them back together and we’ll train you to become an engineer.
Applications are now closed.
