You have told us that you want more gas in your cylinders, less weight and all round better value for money.
With this in mind, we are introducing two new cylinder packages to replace the existing W size cylinder in some of our most popular product ranges, and our customers in Scotland are the first to benefit.
What's happening and when?
Two new cylinder packages that both incorporate the new EVOS Ci™ valve technology will replace our existing W size cylinders. Existing manifolded cylinder pallets will also be replaced by new upgraded 300 bar packages.
Instead you will be offered one of our two new cylinder packages.
There will be no change to how you order, but you must ensure your equipment is suitable for use with the new packages. Just inform us which of the two new packages you would like, and we will handle the rest.
The products affected by the new cylinder roll out are as follows:
|Gas||Cylinder Size||Replacement Date|
|Nitrogen||WW (MCP's)||June 2015|
|Argon and Argoshield||W & ZN||September 2015|
|Argon and Argoshield||WW (MCP's)||September 2015|
|Oxygen||WW (MCP's)||December 2015|
After the above dates the existing W cylinders will no longer be available to order in the Scotland area (including Carlisle). The rest of the UK will follow at a later date.
Instead you'll be given the choice between two new cylinder packages:
Option 1 : 50L 300 bar cylinder
Contains up to 38% more gas than the current W cylinder
Option 2: 33L 300 bar cylinder
Lighter than the existing W - easier to manoeuvre but only 10% less gas
If you currently take the 230 bar MCP's, these will also be replaced by a new 300 bar package.
Remember: From June 2015, when you call us or visit one of our stores to exchange your nitrogen cylinder, you'll be offered a choice of one of the new cylinders as an alternative - you just need to tell us which option best suits you.
Preparing for the change
From a safety perspective, all 300 bar cylinders are fitted with an ISO 5145/Nevoc valve to prevent inadvertent use of a lower pressure rated regulator. The new EVOS cylinder valve is no different, so you will need to purchase a new 300 bar rated regulator suitable for use with the new package to take advantage of the benefits on offer.
