The Aberdeen site of industrial gases supplier BOC has received a prestigious European Safety Award for 15 years without a single 'Lost Time Incident' - a standard industry measurement for safety performance.
The EIGA Gold Award was presented to the Aberdeen site's operations manager, Findlay MacNeill, and his team by BOC's Head of Safety and Environment, Mike Wilson, at a special ceremony.
Gordon Cribbes, BOC Regional Production Manager, who was himself based at Aberdeen for 10 years said: "To be incident-free across all these disciplines for 15 years is a fantastic achievement - and one that the whole team can be very proud of."
BOC's Aberdeen facility supplies industrial, medical and special gases to onshore and offshore customers.
1. The Gold Safety Award is given by the European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA) for exceptional safety performance on industrial gas sites.
2. A Lost Time Incident (LTI) is a standard measure for industrial accidents. It means an injury where the person involved has not been able to return to work and misses a shift or more.
