BOC, the UK’s largest supplier of industrial gases and equipment, is showcasing its latest developments for the welding market at MACH 2012 in April.
MACH 2012 – 16-20 April, NEC, Birmingham
Stand 4586 in the Welding World Village
This year, the emphasis is providing innovative solutions that meet the needs of all customers, including smaller businesses and those customers who may have only occasional welding requirements.
There will be a number of the company’s technical experts on hand throughout the show, helping visitors find the right equipment for their needs, regardless of size or usage profile. As BOC’s SME Manager, Vanessa Atkinson, notes: “BOC has products and services for everyone, no matter what sector or what requirements they have. We can provide so much more than just a cylinder of gas, so pop round to the stand and see how we can help.”
An innovative premium quality regulator will make its first appearance at MACH 2012. The new single-stage, 2-gauge BOC-Edge regulator gives even better flow control over a full range of cylinder pressures and meets – or surpasses – all relevant industry standards. It comes with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Also on display will be the beta-version of a new Welding Pack. Designed for TIG, MIG and MMA, it is aimed at smaller scale, occasional users, such as service and maintenance teams or agricultural machinery repairers. The lightweight, portable generator pack does not require a mains supply. Instead it can be recharged between jobs through the mains or via other top-up facilities such as the Hymera fuel cell generator developed by BOC, a member of The Linde Group.
The HYMERA is a hydrogen-powered generator, supplying up to 150W of electricity. It is designed for high-efficiency, low-power applications such as lighting and power tools – and now welding. Being hydrogen-powered, it is virtually silent and produces no emissions other than water vapour, unlike conventional diesel- or petrol-fuelled alternatives.
The HYMERA DC, the latest development in the family, will be on show. When used in conjunction with BOC’s 54ZH portable hydrogen fuel cylinder, the HYMERA DC can provide 2-3 kWh of direct-current electrical energy. Depending on conditions, this is equivalent to around 75kg of lead-acid batteries.
BOC has a combination of welding products and associated equipment to meet every requirement.
