Propane Surcharge Monthly Update
Propane is a factored product and is produced either as a by product from the refinement of crude oil or through the extraction of natural gas from gas fields.
Propane is a traded product and varies in price depending on market forces.
A surcharge per cylinder has been introduced for propane cylinders to take into account changes to BOC's costs.
Increase in surcharge
From the 6th February 2012 there will be an increase in the propane surcharge to £339 per tonne.
The surcharge is reviewed monthly and can increase or decrease to reflect changes in the Platts FOB Average Propane Index.
