Refrigerant Monthly Surcharge Update
BOC do not manufacture refrigerants; product is bought in bulk and re-packed to suit customer needs. Producers are continuing to experience a global shortage of refrigerant feedstocks which is reducing the amount of product available for the market. Consequently the refrigerant market continues to face unprecedented shortages and cost increases.
We have been informed by the refrigerant manufacturers that the shortages will continue throughout 2011 and to expect continued price increases.
We realise how critical these products are for your business. Our objective is to meet all of your supply requirements and so we are putting in place measures that will minimise disruption. These include (but are not limited to):
a) only supplying customers who have purchased from us over the past 12 months - selected products only.
b) leveraging our global organisation for sourcing
c) sourcing from new suppliers.
BOC can't absorb the increases in price from the products. In order to recover a proportion of the exceptional costs we are incurring, we regret that we are left with no alternative but to introduce surcharges .
Surcharge Details
A surcharge per KG has been introduced for the products stated below to take into account changes to BOC's product purchase costs.On the 1st May 2010 the Surcharge was implemented. Until Refrigerant producers reduce their supply prices, the surcharge will continue to be used to enable BOC to recover the additional costs incurred.
This website page and surcharges will be updated on the first working day of each month. The surcharge will be reviewed monthly and will increase or decrease to reflect changes in the price of the Refrigerant products bought.

Please note:
- The surcharge is only applied to the Refrigerant gas price. There are no changes to cylinder rental or fixed charges.
- All future price adjustments and the level of the surcharge will be published on this website and will appear on your monthly invoice as a separate 'Environment and Energy Surcharge'.
