Prepared and Catered Foods

Prepared foods are often multi-ingredient products which typically require minimum preparation. 'Consumer-ready foods' such as pizza, sandwiches, ready-meals, etc. fall into the category of prepared foods.  These products are often high value which leads consumers to demand high quality (and shelf life), appearance, taste and the frequent introduction of new variants.


The catering industry has always been challenged to deliver fresh, fine foods of the highest quality. Last-minute production is often required to meet these demands. In most cases this is an inefficient and very expensive way to operate.

BOC understands that each ingredient has its own properties and deteriorates differently. The in-depth know-how of our field and in-house experts enables them to recommend the right gas mixture for Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) that will best inhibit deterioration and maintain quality.

Additionally they have substantial experience in cryogenic freezing, a technology extremely popular for products which need to be frozen quickly after cooking such as ready-made meals, pizzas, battered and fried products as well as coated products to maintain quality and reduce the risk of contamination.
