Speciality Gas and Equipment
BOC provides an extensive range of speciality gases and associated gas control equipment. We also offer a full range of services including safety training courses concerned with safe handling and storage.
Having spent time and effort selecting a gas of the correct purity or a mixture of the correct specification, it is also important to select the appropriate gas handling equipment to ensure there is no degradation of gas quality between the cylinder and delivery point.
BOC has a range of pressure regulators and associated gas handling equipment specifically designed to maintain gas purity and specification.
Compared to industrial and welding regulators, speciality gas regulators use higher specification materials of construction and are manufactured to tighter tolerances which guarantee reduced system purging times and provide the best possible gas purity at point of use.
- High purity gases are supplied in a dedicated fleet of carefully prepared cylinders to ensure that ingress of impurities is controlled and measured. These gases are regularly used for purging and as sample “carrier” gases associated with analytical instrumentation. However they are equally suitable for any process where control of impurities is critical. Read more about high purity gases
- Gas mixtures typically fall into two categories: Calibration gas mixtures: these comprise the largest and most diversified group of products, often containing reactive components at trace level concentrations. These certified products are used as a standard, typically in gas chromatography, against which samples of unknown concentration are compared. Process gas mixtures: these are used in a number of manufacturing processes and are chosen for their physical or chemical properties. Often a user has the choice of mixing the gases at the point of use or buying in a pre-mixed form. Typical examples include mixtures used as the lasing media in lasers, leak detection mixtures, pre-mixed gases for the Modified Atmosphere Packaging of food, and mixes to create particular atmospheres for the growth of bacteria.
