The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership commissioned Ricardo-AEA to conduct a review, funded by the Transport Knowledge Transfer Network, to identify low carbon fuels and technologies and make suggestions on implementation.
For long haul and regional deliveries, methane gas engine technologies (CNG, LNG, biomethane) have been identified as having the best potential to deliver the greatest carbon savings.
|Dual fuel engine||14%||2-4yrs|
* Based on current technology marginal capital costs, fuel cost savings and low-high mileage sensitivities.
The above table has been taken from a report funded by the Transport Knowledge Transfer Network and delivered through the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, aimed to identify low carbon fuels and technologies and make suggestions on how to implement them in a way that would minimise burdens to industry.
