Information for patients and carers regarding BOC Healthcare clinical services

Patients and Carers

As a patient or carer for someone with a long-term respiratory condition, we understand that managing your health can be a challenge. At BOC Clinical Services, we provide a range of services to support you in your healthcare journey.

Our pulmonary rehabilitation programmes, oxygen assessments, early supportive discharge from hospital, and re-admission avoidance services are designed to help you improve your quality of life, maintain your independence, and better manage your long-term respiratory condition.

We offer community respiratory services in several regions across the UK, and our team of healthcare professionals includes respiratory nurses, respiratory physiotherapists, technical assistants, and healthcare assistants.

We pride ourselves on working closely with the NHS and local clinicians to provide patient-focused care of the highest quality.

If you have any questions about our services or how we can support you in your healthcare journey, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We also offer a range of resources for carers, including information on support groups, respite care, financial support, and advice on managing challenging behaviour.

Please visit the NHS Coronavirus website for the latest guidance on COVID-19.

Caring For Someone with a Lung Condition

Caring for someone with a lung condition can be a challenging role, both physically and emotionally. However, know that you are not alone in your caring journey - there is a wealth of support and information available to help you provide the best care possible.

If the person you care for has been referred to a BOC Clinical Service, our clinicians will be able to provide you with information and signpost you to the relevant agencies and resources that can help support you in your role as a carer.

Asthma+Lung UK is another valuable resource for carers, offering a range of advice and support through their website or helpline that is available from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. You can also visit the Carers UK website for more information on support and advice for carers.

In addition to these resources, the NHS Choices website and Clinical Guidelines from the British Thoracic Society and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence offer important information on caring for someone with a lung condition.

Remember, taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of your loved ones. If you have any questions or concerns about caring for someone with a lung condition, speak with your healthcare provider or reach out to one of the resources listed above.
