The wide variety of applications and its excellent safety and environment compatibility have made helium an essential product.
As a leading supplier of helium gas, BOC is able to offer a wide variety of solutions in the helium market.
We can supply helium in a full range of purities and mixtures, in any quantity you require and as either a compressed, liquefied or bulk gas.
Helium can be used for a multitude of applications; as a “light gas” that can lift balloons and airships, as a detector gas to detect the smallest of leaks in pipelines and tanks, as an important component in shielding gases for welding, as a carrier gas in residue analysis, in the manufacture of optical glass fibres or as a coolant in space technology and medicine.
Helium Supply Methods - the right supply method for any application:
Helium Trailers
BOC has a widespread customer service and depot network to supply helium – either as a gas in pressurised gas cylinders and bulk containers or as a liquid in cryogenic containers.
Throughout the UK and Ireland, large customers receive supplies of gaseous Helium in trailers. The helium gas is either decanted with the trailer remaining on site or decanted in to Bulk storage at the customer's site.
Liquid Helium Dewars
Liquid helium (LHe) is available in 30, 60, 100, 120, 250 and 500L super vacuum-insulated cryogenic containers.
Helium Gas Cylinders
Compressed helium gas cylinder sizes vary from disposable to large. In addition, customers with a high demand can receive a MCP (manifold cylinder pallet) which comprises 15 cylinders manifolded together in a pallet.
New 300 bar 50L cylinder package for pure market
BOC has successfully launched a new 300 bar 50 litre Helium cylinder package for pure market in UK and Ireland. This replaces the current 200 bar 50 litre package. The package offers customers 43% more gas per cylinder, and due to a new pressure reducing valve, existing 200 bar compatible regulators are suitable. Please refer to our FAQs for any queries.
What it means for you
- Contains 43% more gas than your existing L cylinder.
- Fewer cylinder changeovers.
- Reduced order placing.
- Reduced cylinder holdings.
What you need to do
You do not need to do anything. From a safety perspective, the new package is fitted with a unique pressure reducing valve, delivering an outlet pressure between 40-50% of the cylinder pressure. This means the same gas regulator currently in use on your 200 bar Helium 50 litre cylinder can be used on this new cylinder package, so you can start using it immediately.
