Our feature article details why it is important to select the right welding gas for the job and how to identify the welding gas that you should use.
Improve your welds with the right gas for the job
It doesn’t matter what you do – auto repair, maintenance or panel beating, welding pipework or fixing a vintage car – to achieve quality welds you need the right shielding gas for the job.
The rule applies whether you own a business or are a DIY or hobby welder working at home. Unfortunately there’s no one-size-fits-all shielding gas. So the first step is to identify what you want to improve in your welding and match this to the benefits the shielding gas can bring.
For example, if you want to paint or coat the surface of a vehicle body part you have MIG welded, it’s important to keep spatter to a minimum. Argoshield Heavy and Argoshield Universal are excellent for this.
BOC supplies a wide range of shielding gases specifically designed to optimise performance in particular conditions. To find out how to choose the right gas for you, read our feature article 'How to choose the right shielding gas for your welds'.
