There are few experiences more pleasurable in summertime than savouring a fresh pint at a great British pub; and few that can dampen your spirits more than when said pint is served as flat and cloudy as the temperamental British weather.
That’s why this summer, BOC Sureserve, the leading supplier of dispense gas for beer, is campaigning to spread awareness of what makes a perfect pint, so that each and every time you visit the pub you know the pint you’re being served is the best it can be.
Draught beer, like love, needs perfect chemistry, a blend of interdependent steps that each contribute to pint perfection. The glass the pint is served in, the angle at which it is poured, the cleanliness of the pipes and the temperature at which it is served are important but a crucial but sometimes overlooked factor in this process is the quality of the dispense gas.
To bring awareness to this unsung hero as well as to champion the other factors that make pints taste so good, BOC, part of The Linde Group, a world-leading gases and engineering company, is launching the ‘We Sureserve good beer’ campaign. The campaign features a nationwide competition to find the pub that serves the best pint in Britain. Beer enthusiasts can vote for their favourite pub via www.wesureservegoodbeer.com. The most highly rated pubs will appear in the leaderboard and the pub crowned best pint in Britain will win the fantastic prize of a Sureserve entertainment night.
To further celebrate great beer, a series of tongue-in-cheek viral videos that feature hunky guys and gals serving pints just the way we like ‘em will be released over the 10 weeks of summer. Each clip lasts around 20 seconds – the time it takes to pour the perfect pint. The videos are served up at www.wesureservegoodbeer.com and YouTube at 11am every Friday - the time the pubs open their doors to welcome the weekend wind-down crowd. Each video is bubbling full of interesting beer facts and humorous gags for viewers to share with their mates at the pub.
Why does good dispense gas matter? Dispense gas puts the bubbles in your beer and a quality gas like Sureserve ensures beer is tasty, refreshing and maintains its fizz from the first to the last sip. It also contributes to a creamier, longer lasting head, the crowning glory of the pint that locks in the taste, freshness and aromas from the pint.
Via the campaign microsite, users can also track down their nearest Sureserve pub using the Google maps mash-up, browse through the video gallery, nominate their favourite pub to win and learn more about the secrets behind good beer.
The competition runs from 1 July to 1 September.
