Our database of gas mixtures contains over 30,000 individual product recipes written by BOC technical experts within strict quality and safety guidelines to provide you with the gas product required to meet your needs.
We can also create customised products to your own specification.
We certify our speciality gas mixtures as standard to an uncertainty of +/-5% and up to +/-1% or better depending on your accuracy requirements. Our certified gas mixtures are traceable to internationally recognised standards at our state of the art filling plants in Morden and Immingham. Our alpha volumetric and alpha gravimetric certified products are traceable directly to NPL standard masses.
We hold a wide variety of common gas mixtures in stock around the UK, which can be delivered to you within days on one of our 135 cylinder vehicles or through one of 72 retail outlets which means that BOC can provide unrivalled national coverage.
Complex hydrocarbon gas mixtures are produced at our world leading filling facility at Immingham, Lincolnshire, and over >99% of our speciality gas cylinders are filled and analysed in the UK. We utilise Gravimetric or volumetric filling techniques, filling by weight or pressure respectively, and have the ability to specify analytical results with tight analytical tolerances and uncertainty values.
Typical examples of BOC's range of speciality gas mixtures include:
Multi component hydrocarbon blends for the petrochemical industry such as Ethane, Ethylene, Propane, Propylene, Isobutane, N-Butane.
An extensive range of Calibration gas mixtures for use in laboratory and research industries - available in a variety of cylinder sizes to meet your individual requirements.
Rare gas mixtures - gas mixtures that include Xenon, Neon or Krypton for use in the double glazing, lighting and research industries.
Reactive and Corrosive gas mixtures - calibration mixtures containing Carbon Monoxide, Nitric Oxide, Sulphur Dioxide and Nitrous Oxide used for emissions monitoring and ambient air monitoring.
UKAS accredited gas mixtures - BOC has the widest scope of UKAS accreditation available in the UK of any commercial gas company. A market-defining range of mixtures have their quality, stability and certification procedures assured through accreditation by UKAS to ISO 17025 - general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories - and ISO Guide 34 - general requirements for the competence of reference material producers. These mixtures include breath-test mixtures for the UK police forces, binary mixtures for continuous emissions monitoring systems and MOT exhaust gas mixtures.
Our UKAS accreditation also includes a range of gaseous hydrocarbon mixtures. This means we can produce an extended range of UKAS accredited mixtures specifically for petrochemical and fiscal monitoring applications.
Gas mixtures in portable gas cylinders - we can produce a range of mixtures in our lightweight, easy to handle Ecocyl cylinder package which includes a built-in regulator.
