Reflect on your skills, strengths, achievements & pieces of work
Take the time to reflect on all the great things that you’ve been part of or have achieved so far and be sure to showcase them! Ensure your CV is up to date with the key pieces of work and skills you have gained and fine tune some good examples to talk about throughout the process – This includes projects you might have completed not only at school or college.
Preparation is key
Gather information about our company, who we are and what we do. Be authentic and well prepared for questions about the area and role you have applied for. Gathering a list of questions to ask the interviewer that you may have about the role or company shows a genuine interest in working for us.
Use the STAR method
You may have heard this one several times, but it is by far the most effective way to answer questions and have impactful discussions. Pull on some of the good examples you already have so that you are prepared. Write down the skills listed for the role and think of 2 examples of these. Remember! The interview is not just for us to get to know you better, it is also for you to get to know us better.
Ask if there is anything that you need
We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, valued and empowered to bring their whole selves to work every day. If there is anything we can do to ensure that you are able to present your best self throughout this process, please let us know as we are more than happy to work with you to do so.
Be you!
We want to create a culture of acceptance and inclusion, where everyone can be their authentic self at work, every day. So, ask insightful questions to those you meet; whether that’s our current graduates, the assessors, or our Talent team. This will help demonstrate your research, passion and genuine interest in BOC and the role.
