Engineering Graduate Programme

Our graduate programme is a chance for you to gain hands-on experience in one of the world’s leading gas and engineering companies. You’ll learn from the best, unlock your potential and start building a brilliant career.

At BOC, our programme consists of each graduate completing 4 annual placements. The placements are within different business functions and locations across our sites and will provide a range of skills, knowledge and experiences – perfect for you to find out exactly what you really enjoy doing.

To ensure you feel settled and equipped, all graduates are provided with a buddy to support and navigate you through the programme and share their valuable insights!

We facilitate and successfully set you up for the achievement of your Chartered Engineer status with the relevant institution. All our graduates receive on the job mentoring and coaching from highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals to support your career, provide advice and enable your development.

Alongside your role, you will have the opportunity to get involved in attracting and growing the next generation of engineering graduates, by sharing your experience on the scheme and being an ambassador of the programme.

Our Top Tips for Success

Take a sneak peek at our top tips below

Reflect on your skills, strengths, achievements & pieces of work
Take the time to reflect on all the great things that you’ve been part of or have achieved so far and be sure to showcase them! Ensure your CV is up to date with the key pieces of work and skills you have gained and fine tune some good examples to talk about throughout the process.

Use the STAR method
You may have heard this one several times, but it is by far the most effective way to answer questions and have impactful discussions. Pull on some of the good examples you already have so that you are prepared. Remember! The interview is not just for us to get to know you better, it is also for you to get to know us better. To go that extra mile, you can add another R at the end of STAR to talk about reflecting.

Ask if there is anything that you need
We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, valued and empowered to bring their whole selves to work every day. If there is anything we can do to ensure that you are able to present your best self throughout this process, please let us know as we are more than happy to work with you to do so.

Be you!
We want to create a culture of acceptance and inclusion, where everyone can be their authentic self at work, every day. So, ask insightful questions to those you meet; whether that’s our current graduates, the assessors, or our Talent team. This will help demonstrate your research, passion and genuine interest in BOC and the role.
