Work Permits and Screening

During the recruitment process you will be asked to provide proof of your right to work in the UK.  Job offers will not be confirmed until the company has seen and copied the documentation that proves your right to work.

If you fail to provide the required documentation prior to commencing work with BOC or if it is found that the documents do not meet the legal requirements the job offer will be withdrawn.

It is also important to note that some job vacancies may be considered by BOC as a safety-critical. Under these circumstances, any offer of employment is subject to a pre-employment drug test, which will be conducted as part of your pre-employment medical. By applying on line you will have provided your consent to complete this test.

As with the pre-employment medical this is done under strict confidentiality guidelines. However, if the test proves positive BOC has reserved the right to withdraw any offer of employment, which is conditional on a test result that is satisfactory to BOC. BOC recommends that you do not resign from your existing employment until the test results are received and we confirm your offer of employment.

Important Notes

Should you have any specific requirement or need any reasonable adjustment ahead of your interview, please contact the Hiring Manager.

BOC is unable to employ anyone who does not have the right to work in the UK and Ireland. We are also unable to apply for work permits for individual jobs until all UK and European Economic Area employment sources have been exhausted. In exceptional circumstances, i.e. for highly specialised roles or hard to find skills, if we are unable to recruit within the UK/EEA, at our discretion we may choose to apply for work permits for suitably qualified individuals who are not of UK / EEA origin.
