Introducing BioLNG
BioLNG is a sustainable version of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) produced by the anaerobic digestion of organic waste. By moving to BioLNG, the CO2 savings of up to 20% created by LNG can be boosted to as much as 95%. And, as with LNG, it’s cheaper than diesel. Vehicles will continue to be supplied with LNG in the usual way and an equal quantity of biomethane will be injected into the UK Gas Grid to balance the quantity used for vehicle refuelling.
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
Liquefied Natural Gas is natural gas that has been cryogenically cooled to its liquid state.
It is the same gas or methane that is piped throughout the UK for domestic use but, by cryogenically cooling the gas to -162°C, its volume is reduced making it easier to store.
Liquefied Natural Gas from BOC
BOC purchases LNG from Avonmouth in the UK and across Europe and uses our dedicated distribution fleet to deliver to our customers throughout the UK.
Customer usage is remotely monitored - this data is used to predict requirements accurately and ensure we deliver on time, every time.
